Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our loved one Eric Andrew Rocha, known affectionally to his family as Tyrone.

Eric is the beloved son of his mother, Deanna and Stepfather Larry Sprunk, beloved grandson of Andrew Rocha and Elva Pena and loving father to his daughter Kasia.

Eric was a dedicated employee with Albertsons Market for over nine years before he found his place within the Smith’s grocery family.

Eric was truly one of a kind. The most easy-going person that always treated everyone with kindness and respect and never in a confrontational manner. He possessed a wealth of knowledge on just about every subject. His family never needed the internet for answers as he was their walking encyclopedia.

A passionate fan of baseball and Batman, it was rare to ever see him without his signature Batman shirt or hat. And, as a passionate baseball fan he checked off one of his major bucket list dream by visiting the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown NY and experienced an induction ceremony in person.

He was, also, a loving brother and an amazing and fun uncle who brought so much joy when he was around. His family will deeply miss their trivia games, music battles, early screening premiers of Batman movies, random funny text messages, and even the playful pranks he orchestrated with his niece and nephews.

The pride and joy of his life was his daughter. He cherished their summer visits together and held on to the many memories of late-night movies and food delivery orders and of course enjoying their favorite meal pizza.

Eric is survived by his daughter Kasia, mother Deanna and stepfather Larry, sister Juliana and wife Amy, brothers Marc (“Bucky”) and Max (“Five-Oh”), cousin (“cuz”) Dannielle, stepsister Stephanie, nephews Ezykiel (“Zykie”), Orian, Roman (“Romanowski”), niece Malificent (“baby girl”), grandmother Elva and numerous extended family members who loved him dearly and had their own special bond with him. He is preceded in death by his loving grandfather Andrew (“pops”). Uncle Tyrone, in our hearts you’re not gone, just chillin with pops enjoying a baseball game.

Due to the sudden loss and heartbreak, a private cremation will be held, and a celebration of life celebrated at a later date TBD and will be shared by the family.

In lieu of flowers and gifts the family is requesting donations be made to Assistance League of Albuquerque (Shoes for Kids or Operation School Bell) https://www.assistanceleague.org/albuquerque/ways-to-donate/ or to any local back to
